Mentors

The main task of mentor is to provide help to his/her mentee in the study of the field of his/her social entrepreneurial activity and to build stable business scheme. In the course of teaching and developing of the first-time entrepreneurs mentor invests his/her knowledge, instruments and resources that may help translate the idea of social business into reality. Mentor, in turn, becomes in fact a co-author of the new promising social enterprise and gets the possibility to influence it. Meetings with mentor 1-2 times a month are based on the matters of the participants’ concern in relation to the basic aspects of their project development. Viesturs Sosārs

CEO and co-founder of the sound technology company Real Sound Lab, co-founder and the board member of the TechHub Riga – a popular Latvian community for technological entrepreneurs; he is an active mentor in business accelerator programmes in the Baltic States and Finland, the author of a specialised course on entrepreneurship at the Stockholm School of Economics. Starting with 2003, Viesturs has been acting in the environment of the new Latvian technological entrepreneurs. Throughout these years he established his businesses, was a venture capital fund manager and made private investments in several new technological ventures. Viesturs will talk to you about pitching – how to present your venture projects to potential investors. He will focus on choosing the presentation format, presentation skills development, how to attract investments and avoid common mistakes when giving your pitch.

Has been doing graphic design for 14. During this time he was creating trademarks and corporate style for many commercial and state organizations in the Baltic states, the CIS and European countries. Zeev is an experienced financial and investment consultant managing for the past 3 years a medium size private equity firm. Previously worked in the banking sector as junior investment banker in Parex Bank and country manager for Rietumu Banka, Israel. Mikhail Bogomolniy

Initiator of New Do(o)r project in the Baltic States and its main inspirer. An architect and a lecturer of Russian origin, who holds Bachelor’s degree in architecture and town planning from Jerusalem Academy for Arts and Design “Bezalel” and from the Technion. He has also graduated the trial programme of Pratt Institute in New York. Topics of activity: “Identity”, “Memory”, “Research and supervision of the processes of changes” and “The meaningful daily activities of city dwellers”. His professional interest is related to establishment of an educational system. Mikhail has been working for many years as a director of the Israel Jewish Agency for the Non-Formal Education, founder of the Institute for Education, Art and Identification “Milhauz”, as well as has established the Summer Urban Inter-Disciplinary School – Studio called Urban Studio, which is an inter-disciplinary platform for the cooperation between architects, town planners, sociologists and representatives of other sectors, which are related at any extent to creation and development of nowadays urban environment. Mikhail is also a co-author of the Supporting programme for Jewish communities Hamama, implemented by the Jewish Agency since 2006, as well as a co-author of a number of inter-disciplinary programmes in the areas of social entrepreneurship, creative pedagogy and art.
